We were tasked by the Greater London Authority’s Regeneration Team to create a house style to enable them to develop an accessible communications approach and visually consistent library of publications. This approach should be delivered in the form of a guide to be undertaken by the in-house design team. It seemed clear to us that this should be handled alike the design of a tool; ready to fulfill its function, it should be systematic, clear and robust. At the same time there should be enough flexibility within the system to allow for a measure of authorship and expression.
