New York, 2010–present
Foundwell is a New York based creator and connoisseur of fine objects. An ongoing collaboration has enabled a visual and material approach to emerge in line with the quality and traditional craftsmanship integral to the Foundwell philosophy. Carefully sourced materials, traditional processes and a diverse palette of imagery, graphic and typographic components are central to a developmental attitude.
A Day Observed is the first in a series of stories commissioned by Foundwell that will feature on their new website. It brings together key pieces from Foundwell’s collection into a theatrical story — where in the absence of actors, a narrative (by Kate O’Brien) works in tandem with still life photography (by Matthieu Lavanchy) through a series of scenes based on 4 parts of a day observed.
